The staircase is above the basement stairs and previously dumped into the kitchen. The 2nd floor opened up into the master bedroom, formerly the servant quarters.

From what I can deduce, the kitchen was remodeled in 2006 where in they closed off the staircase top and bottom, then put countertops in downstairs and a furnace in upstairs.

The hidden staircase also revealed a door that went into the hall bathroom. The door was sealed up in the wall during the hall bathroom remodel. David found the door when he removed the medicine cabinet to investigate the electrical wiring that they were replacing.

The best find was the original skeleton key that was still in the walled-off door.
